CELEBRATING 28 YEARS OF DANCE EDUCATION IN SALEM, OREGON

Registration:  A non-refundable fee of $35 per student/$50 per family is required yearly at time of registration.

Payment of Fees:   Payments are due the first class of each month. Payments are considered late if not received by the 10th, and a $25.00 late fee will be added for every seven (7) days the payment is late. The late fee is added per tuition. (If you have two students, both students will be charged a late fee.) Late fees are added starting on the 11th of each month. These fees are non-negotiable. If an account is held delinquent for one month, the student’s classes will be terminated. There is a $25.00 service charge for all returned checks.

Costume Fees:  Information regarding recital will be sent home in October for December recital and February for June recital.  Once a costume fee is paid there are no refunds for any reason.  Costume fees are cash only.

Withdrawal from class/ changing /adding classes:  One-month notice from the first of the month is required to discontinue any classes.  Withdrawal must be done in-person and will not be accepted over the phone. Withdrawal from class/ changing /adding classes must be done at the studio office and not with the teacher.  Withdrawal from class/ changing /adding classes must occur within the first 7 days of the month. To Withdrawal from class/ changing /adding classes from classes a parent must:

      1.  Inform studio office in person, and

      2. Complete and sign a Withdrawal from class/ changing /adding classes form provided 

           by the studio office.

Extreme Weather or Unexpected Interruption of Classes:  If CDT must cancel classes due to extreme weather or events beyond our control such as power outages, global pandemics the missed classes will either be made up or taught via Zoom.  No refunds for classes missed due to these reasons will be given.

Substitutions:  CDT reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is sick or otherwise unable to teach classes.  If a teacher is sick and CDT cannot arrange a substitute any missed classes will be made up.

Dress Code:  Required dance wear and dance shoes must be worn to all classes.  Failure to wear required dance wear to class could result in students being asked to sit out the class.  For safety reasons dancers are not permitted to wear jewelry.

Attendance and Lateness: CDT reserves the right to have students who come late to class, sit out the class.  We ask that the studio be notified if a student will not be attending class.

 Parent’s Responsibility to be Aware of Dates and Events:  It is the responsibility of the parent to be aware of all studio activities, such as recitals, extra classes, and dates CDT is open or closed.  CDT will post all such notices on the bulletin board as well as sending notices home with the students.  It is the parent’s responsibility to regularly check these boards to ensure they are informed.  It is the responsibility of the parents to inform the school of any address or telephone number change.

Care of Students:  CDT is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students.Students are not to be left at the studio for longer than 10 minutes before or after class.


Injuries:  Parents, legal guardians of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on studio property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after class time.

Miscellaneous:  

✩No Food, Gum or Open Liquid Containers are allowed inside the studios. Only closed container water bottles are permitted. 

✩Toys are provided as a courtesy in the foyer please pick up after yourself.  

✩Absolutely no cell phones or electronic devices are allowed in the studios. 

✩Any use of profanity or unsportsmanlike behavior will NOT be tolerated. 

✩A positive and professional manner is always expected.

City Dance Theatre Inc. has the right to refuse service for any reason.
